After the Taliban regime introduced the term “Shurta” for the police, it has now also changed the name of the traffic police.
According to a recent decision by the Taliban’s Ministry of Interior, traffic police will henceforth be referred to as the “Shurta of Traffic and Transit.”
This change is part of the Taliban administration’s broader efforts to replace certain terms and names across government institutions and security agencies.
So far, the Ministry of Interior has not released further details regarding the purpose or specifics of this renaming.
