The Taliban Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that, following last night’s Pakistani airstrikes, it has summoned the chargé d’affaires of Pakistan’s embassy in Kabul.
The ministry stated in a press release that a “strong and categorical protest” was conveyed to the Pakistani side regarding the violation of Afghanistan’s airspace and the bombing of civilian homes in the provinces of Kunar, Paktia, and Paktika.
In the statement, the attacks were attributed to the “aggressor military regime of Pakistan,” and it was noted that as a result of the strikes, 36 civilians, including women and children, were killed and 163 others were injured.
The Taliban Foreign Ministry emphasized that such military actions could negatively affect bilateral relations and called for an end to violations of Afghanistan’s airspace.
Pakistan has so far not issued an official response to the summons or the allegations made by the Taliban.
