The Taliban embassy in the United Arab Emirates has announced that Badruddin Haqqani, the representative of the embassy in Abu Dhabi, participated in the opening ceremony of the “Sheikh Khalifa Award.” This news was shared on Friday via the social media platform X.
According to the provided information, the event was attended by several senior UAE officials. Among the participants were Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Vice President of the UAE, and Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence. Diplomats and representatives of international organizations also attended the event.
So far, no further details have been released about potential meetings on the sidelines of the event or the discussions that took place. However, the presence of the Taliban representative at such events could be considered as part of informal diplomatic interactions.
