Summary

Reuters, citing Israel’s Ambassador to the United States, Yechiel Leiter, reported that the United States, Israel, and Lebanon have signed a framework for a trilateral agreement.

According to Leiter, the framework is based on practical measures and aims to advance relations between Israel and Lebanon. He added that Israel seeks “genuine peace” with Lebanon.

The Israeli ambassador also claimed that the Islamic Republic of Iran and armed groups affiliated with it had attempted to disrupt the process and hinder the progress of the negotiations.

So far, neither the Lebanese government nor the Islamic Republic of Iran has issued an official response to these remarks or to the reported framework for the trilateral agreement.
