The Tasnim News Agency, which is affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has stated that no final agreement has yet been reached between Iran and the United States. It described recent remarks by U.S. president Donald Trump as a continuation of his unilateral and self-congratulatory policies.
In its report, Tasnim said that the comments Trump made on the social media platform Truth social further undermine the atmosphere of trust between Washington and Tehran. According to the report, Trump’s insistence that the United States will not return Iran’s frozen assets has increased Iran’s doubts about Washington’s seriousness.
The agency also cast doubt on Trump’s claims that the naval blockade against Iran has come to an end. Tasnim stated that even if such a measure has indeed been implemented, it could only be regarded as overlooking one instance of a ceasefire violation, because, in its view, such a blockade should never have been imposed in the first place.
According to the report, Iranian officials still do not trust U.S. positions and believe that Washington is seeking to influence and control the negotiating environment through political pressure and public messaging.
