Donald Trump, the President of the United States, on Thursday, 3th of May, posted a chart on the social media platform “Truth Social” comparing the duration of several U.S. wars, including Afghanistan, Iraq, and Vietnam, with the Iran War.
According to the chart, the Afghanistan War lasted 543 weeks for the U.S., the Iraq War 457 weeks, the Vietnam War 439 weeks, the U.S. Civil War 209 weeks, World War II 196 weeks, the Korean War 161 weeks, and the War of 1812 about 139 weeks. In this chart, the Iran War is listed as lasting six weeks.
After posting the image on Truth Social, Trump wrote: “Study this chart.”
The release of this chart comes at a time when wars and U.S. foreign policy continue to be major topics of political and media debate in the country.
