Summary

U.S. President Donald Trump has said that Iran asked Washington to encourage Israel to halt its attacks. He added that he held talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding efforts to prevent the war from escalating.

In an interview with Israel’s Channel 12, Trump said that Iran sent a message to the United States on Monday morning stating that it would no longer attack Israel and requested that Washington urge Israel to stop its strikes.

According to him: “The Iranians told us they would no longer attack Israel and asked us to tell Israel to stop the attacks. I called Benjamin Netanyahu and I stopped him.”

Trump also said he had warned Netanyahu not to expand Israel’s military operations, arguing that if the situation escalated into a full-scale war, Israel could ultimately find itself alone.

He stated: “I told him to be very careful, because you may soon find yourself alone against Iran.”

Trump claimed he was successful in limiting Israeli attacks and added that some regional countries had asked him to use mediation to pressure Netanyahu into halting the war and reaching an agreement.
