Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has announced that talks with Iran in recent days have made significant progress, and the likelihood of reaching an agreement between the two sides has increased.
On Wednesday, May 6, at the White House, Trump told reporters that “very good” discussions had taken place over the past 24 hours and that, according to him, Iran is willing to reach an agreement.
He also stated that Iran has agreed not to possess nuclear weapons and added that the chances of reaching an agreement are “very high.”
The U.S. President further explained that the negotiation process is not limited to a specific timeframe, and the 30-day deadline for reaching an agreement is considered flexible. According to him, there is currently no fixed deadline for the conclusion of the talks.
So far, Iranian officials have not responded to Trump’s remarks, neither confirming nor denying them.
