The Taliban’s police command in Nimroz province says prominent tribal elder Abdul Khaliq Noorzai and his nephew were killed in an attack by unidentified gunmen in the 60-Meter Road area of Zaranj city, while two others were injured.
Gul Mohammad Qudrat, spokesperson for the Taliban police command, said security forces responded to the scene and have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the attackers, as well as determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
