Summary

The United Afghanistan Front has claimed that it killed two Taliban members in Badghis Province in what it described as its third alleged attack. The front made the claim on Sunday, 11 Asad, in a post published on the social media platform X.

According to the United Afghanistan Front’s claim, the targeted individuals were members of the Taliban who, the group alleges, had been involved in the torture of former Afghan government security personnel. The front has not provided further details regarding the timing, exact location, or circumstances of the attack.

The United Afghanistan Front had announced the previous day the official launch of its military operations against the Taliban. At the same time, the group released images and claimed that it had carried out two additional attacks: one along the Kandahar–Spin Boldak highway in Kandahar Province, and another in the Lashkari Bazaar area of Lashkar Gah city, the capital of Helmand Province.

However, no detailed information has been provided regarding any of these attacks, and the claims have not been independently verified so far. The Taliban had also not issued any response regarding the alleged attack in Badghis Province by the time of publication.

Meanwhile, Sami Sadat, the leader of the United Afghanistan Front, announced in a video message released on Sunday morning that the front had begun military operations against the Taliban. He said the objective of the front is to restore the rule of law based on the constitution approved by the 2004 Loya Jirga.
