Islam in Russia is considered the country’s second-largest religion after Christianity, and its expansion continues at a rapid pace. According to reports, Muslims currently make up around 15% of Russia’s total population.
Experts predict that, due to population growth, migration, and social changes, the number of Muslims in Russia could reach approximately 30% of the total population by 2050.
Meanwhile, the Russian government and financial institutions have also increased their efforts to develop Islamic banking. In recent years, various projects have been launched to provide Islamic financial services and implement banking systems compliant with Sharia principles.
Analysts believe that the growing Muslim population and the expansion of Islamic economic activities will have a significant impact on Russia’s social, economic, and cultural structure in the coming years.
