The women’s rights movement “Window of Hope” has launched a global campaign under the slogan “Support the Women of Afghanistan,” calling on the international community to take urgent and effective measures to end gender apartheid against Afghan women and address widespread human rights violations.
According to the movement, the campaign, which was launched yesterday, aims to mobilize global coordination, support, and practical action regarding the situation of women in Afghanistan.
Based on the published statement, this global appeal represents the voice of millions of Afghan women who have been deprived of their fundamental rights to education, employment, freedom, security, and participation in social life.
The movement stated that following the Taliban’s return to power on August 15, 2021, women have been systematically excluded from educational, economic, and political spheres through the issuance of restrictive decrees.
During the campaign, slogans such as “Stop the killing of women,” “Justice, not revenge,” and “Women’s rights are human rights” were also raised, expressing opposition to the current state of women’s rights in Afghanistan.
The “Window of Hope” movement has called on the United Nations, governments, parliaments, human rights organizations, and international media to join the campaign, amplify the voices of Afghan women globally, and take immediate action to end gender apartheid, hold the Taliban accountable, and provide practical support for Afghan women and girls.
