In the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, the Australian women’s cricket team defeated the host nation England to claim their seventh world title.
In the final match held at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London, Australia won the toss and elected to field first, sending England in to bat. The home side scored 150 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
For England, captain Nat Burnt played a responsible innings, scoring 58 runs off 52 balls, while Freya Kemp provided a late surge with an unbeaten 44 runs off 28 balls, including four boundaries and one six.
For Australia, Kim Garth, Lucy Hamilton, Sophie, and Annabel each took one wicket.
In response, Australia successfully chased the target of 151 runs in 17.1 overs, losing 3 wickets. Beth Mooney top-scored with 64 runs off 49 balls, while Phoebe Litchfield contributed 48 runs off 35 balls.
With this victory, Australia secured their seventh ICC Women’s T20 World Cup title.
A total of 12 teams participated in the tournament, including Australia, England, India, South Africa, Pakistan, New Zealand, West Indies, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Ireland, Scotland, and the Netherlands. This was the 10th edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup, which began on 12 June and concluded on 5 July.
