The Kabul Municipality has announced that the construction of the foundational structures for a flyover in front of the Kabul Provincial Building has begun, and soon its pre-fabricated girders will also be installed.
According to the provided information, this flyover will be 235 meters long, 18 meters wide, and 6.8 meters high, featuring four lanes—two for incoming and two for outgoing traffic. Additionally, a 150-meter circular ramp has been planned to better regulate vehicle movement.
The Salangwat route is considered one of the busiest and most congested areas in Kabul, where citizens face heavy traffic daily.
Officials say that upon completion of this project, traffic flow in the Shahr-e-Now, Deh Afghanan, and surrounding areas is expected to become more organized, reducing part of the capital’s traffic problems.
