Mohammad Omar Daoudzai, the former Chief of Staff of the Afghan Presidency, has welcomed the expansion of trade and economic relations between Tashkent and Kabul, calling it an important step toward Afghanistan’s economic growth. He stated that only a sustainable economy and investment can help Afghanistan emerge from its current situation.
On Friday, Jawza 1, Mohammad Omar Daoudzai wrote on his X page that countries are not built through “charity aid,” but rather through job creation, investment, and economic opportunities. According to him, Uzbekistan has recently emerged as a constructive and neutral regional partner for Afghanistan.
Daoudzai emphasized that Afghanistan and Uzbekistan not only share a common border, but also share history, culture, and economic interests. He said both countries have a shared responsibility for regional peace and stability, and under the current geopolitical situation, strengthening relations benefits both sides.
According to him, relations between Kabul and Tashkent are of vital importance for the future of Central and South Asia and should become so fundamental that they are not affected by changes in political systems.
Meanwhile, a delegation of Uzbek businessmen said during a meeting with members of Afghanistan’s Chamber of Commerce in Kabul yesterday that Tashkent plans to invest in large factories in various Afghan provinces in the sectors of textiles, agriculture, and medical equipment.
Today, the Uzbek delegation also held talks in Nangarhar province with local Taliban officials and representatives of the pharmaceutical association regarding joint trade cooperation and investment opportunities.
