
The Taliban’s Security Command in Kunar province has announced that as a result of an airstrike by Pakistani forces on the Sarkano district, at least one person has been killed and four other children have been injured.
According to Fereid Dehqan, the spokesperson for this command, the attack targeted the village of Nawe Pas in the Sarkano district on the afternoon of Wednesday, the 12th of Hamal, leaving civilian casualties.
He also added that the injured individuals have been transferred to the Kunar provincial hospital for medical treatment, and their health condition is being monitored.
The spokesperson of the Taliban’s Security Command claimed that in this incident, residential houses were hit, and significant financial damage was inflicted on the local residents.
This accident occurred at the same time that representatives of the Taliban and Pakistan were holding a meeting in Urumqi city with the goal of reducing tensions and preventing the further escalation of the conflict.
Since the renewal of fighting between the two sides, Kunar province in the eastern part of the country has repeatedly witnessed air and rocket attacks, and reports continue to indicate an increase in civilian casualties in the region.
