Gujarat Titans secured a place in the Indian Premier League (IPL) final with a brilliant performance from Shubman Gill and a seven-wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals.
After winning the toss, Rajasthan Royals elected to bat first and finished their 20 overs on 215 for 6, setting a challenging target for their opponents.
For Rajasthan, Vaibhav Suryavanshi once again delivered an outstanding performance. The 15-year-old scored 96 runs from 47 balls and played a crucial role in helping his team post a high total.
In response, Gujarat Titans got off to a strong start. Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill added 69 runs without losing a wicket during the powerplay, laying the foundation for their team’s successful chase.
Rajasthan’s bowlers were unable to apply sustained pressure on the opposition, and Gujarat maintained a steady scoring rate throughout the innings. The effective partnership between Gill and Sudharsan yielded 167 runs, significantly reducing Rajasthan’s hopes of making a comeback.
Gujarat Titans eventually reached 219 runs for the loss of just three wickets in 18.4 overs, sealing a comfortable victory.
Gujarat captain Shubman Gill was the star of the match, scoring 104 runs from 53 balls. His innings included 15 fours and 3 sixes, earning him the Player of the Match award.
At the other end, Sai Sudharsan contributed 58 runs from 32 balls but was dismissed in unusual fashion. While attempting a shot, his bat slipped from his hands and struck the wicket, resulting in his dismissal. Remarkably, a similar incident had occurred to him in the previous match as well.
According to the tournament schedule, Gujarat Titans will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL final on Sunday in Ahmedabad.
