In the Dhana Sar area between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, a passenger bus has fallen into a deep ravine, resulting in at least 40 deaths and 8 injuries. According to the list of the deceased issued by the central hospital in Zhob district, the names of five Afghan nationals are also included among the victims.
The incident occurred when the bus, which was traveling from Quetta to Peshawar, veered off the road in the Dhana Sar area and plunged into the ravine.
Meanwhile, one of the injured passengers, identified as Hussain Ahmad, has claimed that the bus driver deliberately drove the vehicle into the ravine following a verbal altercation with passengers. He told journalists that a dispute had broken out during the journey between the driver and some passengers, during which the driver reportedly said, “You are wasting my diesel,” before angrily turning the steering wheel and causing the bus to go off the road and crash.
Hussain Ahmad added that, in his view, the driver may also have died in the accident.
However, local authorities have not confirmed this claim made by the injured passenger and said that investigations into all aspects of the incident are ongoing. According to officials, it is possible that the driver may have lost focus on the road during the verbal dispute, which could have led to the deadly crash.
