India secured a historic victory in its only Test match against Afghanistan.
In this solitary Test encounter between the national cricket teams of Afghanistan and India, India defeated the Afghan side, led by Hashmatullah Shahidi, by a comprehensive margin of an innings and 300 runs.
In the match, India batted first and posted 564 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their opening innings. For India, KL Rahul and Shubman Gill stood out with excellent performances, with both scoring centuries.
In response, Afghanistan struggled against India’s bowling attack and managed only 152 runs in their first innings. Due to the large deficit, the Afghan team was forced to follow on.
Afghanistan showed no significant improvement in their second innings and were bowled out for just 112 runs. Indian bowlers dominated Afghan batters across both innings with complete authority.
As a result, India won the one-off Test match by a massive margin of an innings and 300 runs, reinforcing their dominance on home soil.
The heavy defeat sparked discussions among cricket fans and analysts regarding Afghanistan’s technical shortcomings and the need for greater experience at the Test level.
