Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has warned U.S. President Donald Trump to extend the deadline set for the agreement with Iran by another two weeks.
Reports say that Shehbaz Sharif has also warned that Iran must reopen the Strait of Hormuz within this period, or else the ongoing crisis will worsen.
A White House spokesperson has stated that information regarding this warning has been conveyed to Trump, and added that the U.S. president will soon make an announcement on the matter.
Experts believe that such threats could play an important role in reducing regional tensions, though no definitive outcomes are yet clear.
Trump had previously warned that “today, a human civilization may cease to exist.”
