The deputy spokesperson of the Taliban, Hamdullah Fetrat, stated in a press release that Maulana Idrees was the mentor of thousands of religious scholars and that the hands of the “enemies of religious scholars” were behind this attack.
He emphasized that the perpetrators of such attacks will face humiliation and punishment both in this world and in the Hereafter.
Maulana Muhammad Idrees, who was considered one of the closest associates of Maulana Fazlur Rehman, was killed this morning in the Atmanzo area of Charsadda by unknown armed assailants.
