Indian media have reported that China has established a new administrative unit called “Senling” in the Xinjiang region, near the borders of Afghanistan and Pakistan-controlled Kashmir.
The purpose of this move is said to be strengthening security along the Wakhan Corridor.
So far, official sources in China have not commented on the creation of this administrative unit.
