The U.S. Air Force has announced that it has signed a long-term engineering and technical support contract for the radar systems of F-16 fighter jets with Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation. The value of this contract is estimated at approximately $488 million, under which the company will be responsible for maintaining, advancing, and performing engineering tasks related to the radar systems of these jets.
According to reports, this program is not limited to the United States, and includes other countries that operate F-16 fighter jets, including Pakistan. U.S. officials have stated that the goal of this contract is to enhance the operational capabilities of the jets, modernize the radars, and ensure long-term technical support. F-16 fighter jets are used by many countries worldwide, and maintaining their technical systems is critical for the preparedness of the air forces.
