Didović has signed a two-year contract to lead the national futsal team of Afghanistan.

During the unveiling ceremony, the newly appointed members of the team’s technical staff were also introduced.

The Afghanistan Football Federation also announced the extension of Mohammad Nasir Sedaqat’s contract as Manager and Patron of the national futsal team, citing his sound management, commitment, and extensive efforts in promoting the development of futsal in the country.

Prior to the appointment of the Serbian coach, the Afghanistan national futsal team was led by Iranian head coach Majid Mortezaei.

In recent years, under Mortezaei’s leadership, Afghanistan’s futsal team achieved historic success, qualifying for the AFC Futsal Asian Cup for the first time in 2024 and subsequently securing a place at the FIFA Futsal World Cup.

At the FIFA Futsal World Cup, Afghanistan advanced beyond the group stage and reached the Round of 16, marking another milestone for the team. However, their campaign ended at that stage.

Earlier this year, the national team also competed in the AFC Futsal Asian Cup, progressing to the quarterfinals before being eliminated by Japan.
