Following a traffic accident in Pul-e Khumri, the capital of Baghlan province, three people including a woman and a child were killed and five others injured. The incident occurred when two vehicles collided in the Hussein Khail area.
The Taliban police command in Baghlan province confirmed the incident, stating that the cause was excessive speed leading to the collision of the two vehicles. According to the command, emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the accident, and the injured were transferred to hospital for treatment.
Published statistics indicate that traffic accidents remain one of the leading causes of fatalities in Afghanistan. In the period from 15 to 21 Saratan alone, such incidents across the country resulted in 26 deaths and 86 injuries.
