The Taliban’s Ministry of Public Health has announced that Uzbekistan’s Fergana Region has donated medical and non-medical equipment worth US$200,000 to the Abu Ali Sina Balkhi Regional Hospital in Balkh Province.
According to the ministry, the donation includes hospital beds, wheelchairs, air-conditioning units, refrigerators, and a range of other essential medical and non-medical equipment, which has been distributed among various departments of the hospital.
Officials from the Balkh Provincial Public Health Directorate welcomed the assistance, stating that the equipment will play an important role in improving the quality of healthcare services, facilitating patient treatment, and addressing some of the hospital’s operational needs.
The equipment has been delivered to the Abu Ali Sina Balkhi Regional Hospital at a time when many hospitals across Afghanistan continue to face severe shortages of medical equipment and healthcare facilities, leaving patients to contend with significant challenges in accessing adequate medical care.
