Today, the World Health Organization held observances for World Health Day, but Afghanistan’s health system still faces serious challenges and problems. This day is observed every year on April 7 to raise awareness of global health issues and increase public understanding. However, many people in Afghanistan still lack access to basic healthcare services.
According to reports, the shortage of health centers in remote areas, lack of medicine, absence of specialized doctors, and economic difficulties are the main factors putting people at serious health risks. Furthermore, in recent years, the reduction of international aid to the health sector has led to the closure or limited activities of many health centers.
Despite these challenges, healthcare workers are making efforts to provide services to people with limited resources, but they too face issues such as unpaid salaries, lack of equipment, and security problems.
Experts warn that if the international community and organizations do not pay serious attention to Afghanistan’s health sector, the country’s health system will face even more problems.
