Afghanistan’s national football team played out a goalless draw against Bangladesh’s Under-23 side in its second match of the 2026 Maldives Four-Nation Tournament, according to the Taliban-run General Directorate of Olympic, Physical Education and Sports.
The authority stated that the encounter was fiercely contested, with both teams displaying strong competitive spirit throughout the match. However, neither side was able to find a breakthrough, and the game concluded in a 0–0 stalemate.
Afghanistan had begun its campaign on a positive note, securing a victory over host nation Maldives in its opening fixture of the tournament.
The Afghan national team is scheduled to face Pakistan in its third match on June 7. Encounters between Afghanistan and Pakistan have traditionally attracted significant attention and carry added importance for football supporters in both countries.
The four-nation tournament, hosted by the Maldives and featuring Afghanistan, Maldives, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, commenced on June 1 and is set to run until June 10.
