The Afghan national team is scheduled to face Pakistan in its third match on June 7. Encounters between Afghanistan and Pakistan have traditionally attracted significant attention and carry added importance for football supporters in both countries.

The four-nation tournament, hosted by the Maldives and featuring Afghanistan, Maldives, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, commenced on June 1 and is set to run until June 10.
