The Afghanistan Football Federation has announced that the national football team will participate in a four-nation tournament hosted by the Maldives. These matches are part of the national team’s regional preparation program.
According to the federation, the tournament will start at the beginning of June and continue until the 10th of the month. The aim of the competition is to provide more match opportunities and improve the teams’ readiness.
The tournament will feature Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the host Maldives, along with Bangladesh’s Under-23 team. This combination turns the event into a regional competition with diverse teams participating.
The matches will be held in a multi-team format, giving teams the opportunity to face regional opponents and test their level of preparedness.
The Afghanistan Football Federation stated that the purpose of participating in this tournament is to assess players’ abilities and gain more experience in international competitions.
This comes at a time when the Afghanistan national football team has faced various challenges in recent years, but efforts to maintain an active presence in international competitions continue.
