According to the Afghanistan Football Federation, the match is scheduled to kick off at 8:30 p.m. Kabul time in Malé, the capital of the Maldives.
The team, coached by José Antonio Nogueira, began the tournament on a winning note, securing a 1–0 victory over hosts Maldives in their opening fixture.
In that match, Roman Faizi scored the decisive goal in the 80th minute, earning Afghanistan a valuable three points.
