The Iran national football team drew 2–2 with New Zealand in a match played early Tuesday morning, 26 Jawza.
The match was held at a stadium in Los Angeles, United States. New Zealand took the lead in the opening minutes of the first half, but Iran equalized later in the half, and the first half ended 1–1.
In the second half, New Zealand once again went ahead, but Mohammad Mohebi scored Iran’s second goal in the 64th minute, bringing the match to a 2–2 draw.
Iran is grouped with Belgium, Egypt, and New Zealand in this competition.
In another match in the group, Belgium and Egypt played to a 1–1 draw on the previous night.
In other international fixtures, Saudi Arabia drew 1–1 with Uruguay, while Spain and Cape Verde played out a goalless draw.
