According to a report from American media, although Washington had previously supported Pakistan’s mediation in talks with Iran, trust in Islamabad has now been lost in indirect negotiations and discussions.
According to sources, U.S. officials have stated that Pakistan is no longer seen as a suitable route for this process, and this could impact the potential course of diplomatic negotiations with Iran. It has also been mentioned that Washington is seeking alternative paths for talks to find an acceptable solution for both sides.
Pakistan had previously stated that it could play a facilitating role in U.S.-Iran relations and help reduce tensions, but it now appears that the U.S. is more cautiously evaluating other options and may not rely on Pakistan in this regard.
