
Officials from the Taliban’s Ministry of Public Works say that the Kabul-Jalalabad highway was temporarily closed to traffic this morning (Friday) due to heavy rainfall, flooding, and a landslide.
Mohammad Ashraf Haqshanas, the spokesperson for the Taliban’s Ministry of Public Works, stated that this accident occurred in the Tangai Gharo area, and traffic on this route has been halted until further notice.
Haqshanas said: “The Kabul-Jalalabad highway has been temporarily closed to traffic due to heavy rainfall, flooding, and a landslide in the Tangai Gharo area.
He has asked citizens to refrain from traveling in this direction until the highway is reopened.
According to the spokesperson, the operational teams of the Ministry of Public Works are on-site and efforts to clear the route and reopen the highway are ongoing.
