Some international media outlets, including The New York Times, have reported that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the former president of Iran, has been placed under house arrest by the Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). These reports claim that the move followed the alleged disclosure of contacts between him and Israel.
According to these reports, Israel has also allegedly attempted to establish communication with Ahmadinejad over the past several years. However, no further details have been made public regarding the nature of these alleged contacts or any documents supporting the claims.
As of the publication of these reports, Iranian officials, the IRGC Intelligence Organization, and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s office had issued no official statements either confirming or denying the allegations. Independent verification of these claims has also not been possible.
The reports have emerged amid continued political tensions in Iran, with the country’s political environment being influenced by recent regional developments. The allegations have received significant attention in the media and on social networks, but no official Iranian source has so far confirmed or rejected them.
