The first day of the one-off Test match between the national cricket teams of Afghanistan and India concluded with the host nation, India, in complete dominance.
The Indian team, powered by a strong batting performance, lost only three wickets by the end of the day and posted a total of 368 runs, setting a formidable target for the opposition.
For Afghanistan in the bowling department, the young and fast bowler Saim Sapei stood out, claiming two wickets for 67 runs. Meanwhile, Zia-ur-Rahman Sharifi also picked up an important wicket while conceding 61 runs.
A notable point in the match was that Hashmat Shahidi, captain and batter of the Afghanistan national team, also bowled, delivering a total of 17 overs. Although he tried to contain the scoring, he was unable to take any wickets by the end of the day.
The Afghanistan and India teams are scheduled to resume play tomorrow morning at 8:30 AM for the second day of this historic Test match, continuing the proceedings.
