Afghanistan’s star cricketer, Rashid Khan, has stated that national duty holds the highest priority for him. For this reason, he has left England’s 100-ball cricket league and is on his way to join the Afghanistan national team for their upcoming matches against Ireland.
According to a report by Cricinfo, Rashid Khan, who was representing the MI London franchise in the 100-ball league, delivered an outstanding performance in his final match of the tournament. He took five wickets while conceding just 17 runs in 20 deliveries and was named the Player of the Match.
Rashid Khan said: “Every time I come here, I really enjoy it, but representing my country is something that remains my priority. I will return to Ireland tonight to join the national team for the One-Day International series.”
The five-match ODI series between Afghanistan and Ireland is scheduled to begin on August 5. The Afghanistan Cricket Board has announced that the matches will be played on August 5, 7, 10, 12, and 15.
Afghanistan will be led by Rahmat Shah, with the squad featuring several prominent players, including Ibrahim Zadran, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Hashmatullah Shahidi, Azmatullah Omarzai, Rashid Khan, Fazalhaq Farooqi, and other key members of the national team.
