Afghanistan’s national futsal team earned its first point of the Thailand Continental Futsal Championship after holding Russia to a 3–3 draw in its third match of the tournament.

The match kicked off at 3:30 p.m. local time on Wednesday, 14 Asad, in Thailand and ended in a high-scoring draw.

Russia opened the scoring in the seventh minute, but just one minute later Akbar Kazemi equalized for Afghanistan, sending the teams into halftime level at 1–1.

In the second half, Russia regained the lead, but Afghanistan responded with two goals to go ahead. However, Russia scored a late equalizer, and the match ended in a 3–3 draw.

With the result, Afghanistan claimed its first point of the tournament, while Russia moved to five points and continued its group-stage campaign.

Afghanistan had lost its previous two matches, suffering a 6–1 defeat to Thailand and a 2–1 loss to Vietnam.
