Zakia Ahmadi River, an Afghan mountaineer, successfully climbed Mount Everest, the world’s highest mountain, becoming the first Afghan woman to achieve this historic milestone.
Mount Everest, located between Nepal and Tibet, stands at 8,849 meters and is recognized as the tallest mountain in the world. Every year, hundreds of climbers attempt to reach its summit, but due to harsh weather conditions, low oxygen levels, and dangerous routes, many people lose their lives during the expedition.
According to reports, recovering the bodies of climbers who die on Everest is also extremely difficult and time-consuming, as many remain trapped beneath snow and ice.
With this achievement, Zakia Ahmadi not only brought historic pride to Afghanistan, but also delivered an inspiring message of courage, perseverance, and hope to Afghan women and girls.
