Summary

A case has been registered against Mahmood Khan Achakzai, leader of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party and the Leader of the Opposition in Pakistan’s National Assembly, at a police station in Chaman district of Balochistan Province.

According to a police report, the case was filed on the complaint of an individual named Abdul Wali Khan. The complaint alleges that during a public gathering in Chaman on May 29, Achakzai made remarks that could incite hatred and provoke tensions between state institutions and the public.

The case states that he criticized the security situation in Balochistan, described the current government as a “government brought to power through Form 47,” and proposed the formation of a tribal force composed of members of various tribes to stand against the Pakistani military.

The complaint further alleges that Achakzai encouraged residents of Chaman to obtain Afghan citizenship identity documents. It also claims that participants in the gathering blocked a public road by tying ropes across it and incited people against state institutions.

It is worth noting that during the same gathering, Achakzai stated that the barbed-wire fence erected along the Durand Line had been installed at the request of the United States and that they would remove it. He also warned that if Afghanistan were to be divided, Pakistan and Iran could face a similar fate.
