Donald Trump, the President of the United States, says that he is seriously considering the U.S. withdrawal from NATO.

In an interview with the British newspaper The Telegraph, Trump stated: “I was never under the influence of NATO. I always knew they were a paper tiger, and Putin knows this as well.”

Trump has repeatedly criticized NATO allies for not supporting the war with Iran, calling them “cowards” for refusing to send troops to the Strait of Hormuz.
