Social activists and family affairs experts say that Mother’s Day is not merely a symbolic occasion, but an opportunity to place greater emphasis on the rights, needs, and social status of mothers. In their view, mothers play a fundamental role in raising healthy generations, strengthening family stability, and promoting a culture of peace and solidarity.
In different parts of the country, family and cultural gatherings are held to mark this day, and young people share messages of appreciation for their mothers on social media. Many also present gifts to their mothers and express gratitude for their efforts.
People believe that during decades of war and hardship, Afghan mothers have borne the heaviest burden. With patience, endurance, and courage, they have raised their families and children and have struggled under difficult living conditions.
Psychologists emphasize that respecting the love and services of mothers has a positive impact on the psychological well-being of families and social stability. According to them, appreciation and respect for mothers should not be limited to a single day’s ceremonies; rather, safeguarding their rights and dignity throughout the year is a shared responsibility of society.
