The Taliban’s Defense Minister, Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid, discussed bilateral relations between Afghanistan and China, as well as the importance of the Urumqi talks, during a meeting with the Chinese ambassador in Kabul.
According to the Taliban Ministry of Defense, the meeting emphasized the expansion of political, security, and economic cooperation between Kabul and Beijing. Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid stated that after security in Afghanistan, regional security holds special importance and must be strengthened through joint cooperation.
He also added that Afghanistan seeks to strengthen its relations with China and other regional countries to ensure stability and sustainable security in the region.
The Chinese ambassador, in turn, praised Afghanistan’s security efforts and stated that Beijing is committed to expanding the relations between the two countries.
