Historic 50-year-old stones put on display for visitors at Herat citadel (“Arg”).

The Directorate of Information and Culture in Herat has announced the reopening of two special halls for preserving and displaying historical stones inside the Ikhtyaruddin Citadel (“Arg”) of the province. The purpose of establishing these halls is to attract domestic and foreign tourists and to provide better opportunities for visitors to view historical artifacts.

Officials of the directorate stated that the two halls contain 220 historical stone pieces, some of which date back between 50 and 600 years. These artifacts include inscribed stones and other historical samples from different periods.

According to the officials, the establishment of these halls is part of efforts to protect cultural heritage and introduce Herat’s historical artifacts to visitors. They emphasized that displaying these artifacts can play an important role in the growth of cultural tourism in the province.
