Summary

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle are working on a war film for Netflix. The film is based on the memoirs of a British officer about the Afghanistan war. Prince Harry himself was deployed twice to Afghanistan as part of NATO forces led by the United States.

The film tells the story of a British Army unit that, in July 2006, was responsible for securing a district in Helmand and was later targeted by the Taliban.

The film is titled “No Way Out: The True and Harrowing Story of the British Forces in Klabandi”. It is based on the memoirs of Major Adam Jowett, who was the commander of this British unit in Helmand.

Before leaving the army, Prince Harry served ten years in the British Army and participated twice in frontline missions in the Afghanistan war.

In late 2007, Harry went to Helmand for a ten-week mission, serving at that time as an air controller on the battlefield. This mission was classified, and after his presence was revealed on the internet, it ended earlier than planned.

After returning from Afghanistan, British media gave him nicknames such as “The Warrior Prince,” “Brave Harry,” and “One of Our Own.” Later, after intensive training in the UK and the US, he qualified to become an Apache helicopter pilot.

In April 2011, Harry was promoted to the rank of Captain and received the Apache badge from his squadron commander.

He returned to Afghanistan again in September 2012. This mission lasted twenty weeks and gave him the opportunity to participate in operations as an Apache helicopter co-pilot and gunner.

In March 2015, Kensington Palace officially confirmed Harry’s departure from the army, ending his ten years of service in the British Army.

Last year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle signed a limited deal with Netflix. Under this agreement, Netflix has the right to review projects from Harry and Meghan’s production company, Archewell, before deciding whether to proceed with them.
