Summary

“Economic Sunrise” has been held for four days in Kabul. This event was organized by the United Nations Women’s Department, the Afghanistan Economic Initiative, and several other institutions. The aim of the event is to support economic activities, particularly for women.

In this exhibition, around 120 booths have been set up, half of which are managed by women. Participants in various sectors have displayed their products and goods, seeking to introduce their economic capacities to visitors.

Rahima, one of the booth holders, said that the main goal of their participation is not just to sell products, but to create opportunities for business growth. According to her, expanding activities in provinces and accessing export and import opportunities are among their key objectives.

Fariba, another participant, called for more facilities from the government. She emphasized that reducing booth costs and better promoting the exhibition venue could lead to more public attendance and greater support for domestic products.

The second day of the exhibition was met with a significant turnout, particularly by women. Many participants considered such programs a great opportunity to introduce domestic products and strengthen local markets.

Shkiba, one of the visitors, found the progress of women in economic fields remarkable. She noted the existing limitations in education and encouraged women to continue their efforts and pursue self-sufficiency.

Wakil Mohammad, another visitor, also stressed the importance of supporting women producers. He believes that government support for this group can help grow the country’s economy and strengthen domestic production.”
